THERAPY FOR COMPLEX TRAUMA IN WALNUT CREEK AND ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA

Trauma

Complex Trauma is often only understood in reverse, after years of navigating physical and emotional symptoms, misdiagnoses, and pain that feels impossible to describe to someone who hasn’t been there. Trauma can take many forms, but at its core, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

(C-PTSD) is the psychological and emotional impact of prolonged, repeated exposure to traumatic events, often in childhood, such as emotional or verbal abuse, narcissistic abuse, violence, or neglect.

Healing can be complicated when our trauma comes from the very relationships that were meant to keep us safe. We may have a difficult time trusting others, ourselves, or the world around us. Starting slowly and finding someone who respects your story and your pace, where you feel safe, seen, and heard, is where healing begins.
