Fees & Frequently Asked Questions
Fees
I am partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy.
Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement.
Individual: $225 per 50-minute session
Couples / Families: $250 per 50-minute session
Eighty-minute sessions are available for both couples and individuals upon request.
I currently do not work with insurance and am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do
not accept or coordinate with insurance and all services are provided on a private pay
basis.
If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a monthly
superbill to submit for potential reimbursement by your insurance. (Reimbursement is
dependent on your insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.)
You can check Mentaya’s Out Of Network Benefit Calculator above to see what your
insurance will reimburse.
Individual: $225 per 50 minute sessions
Extended Individual: $360 per 80-minute-session
Couples: $250 per 50-minute session
Extended Couples: $400 per 80-minute-session
Yes, please indicate your fee range for sessions when scheduling the consultation or
take a look at this helpful guide. We will re-evaluate how the fee we decide on feels at
the 6 month mark.
Low Fee: $70 for individuals and $80 for relationships, through Open Path
Psychotherapy Collective, a nonprofit that ensures access to therapy for those who
cannot use insurance or pay current rates. I currently have one spot open.
Reduced Fees: $100, $125, $150, and $175. I currently have spots available.
Yes. To both!
I have two offices (one in Alameda, CA and one in Walnut Creek, CA) for those wanting to work in-person.
I also offer online telehealth sessions through a HIPAA compliant video/audio platform, or a combination of in-person and telehealth, depending on what works best for you, your schedule, and location.
Before I work with any client, it’s important to know we’re a good fit. I meet with all new clients over the phone for 20 minutes prior to scheduling your first appointment.
We’ll go over what brings you to therapy, what your goals are/where you’d like to be, answer any questions you may have, confirm logistics (in-person or telehealth sessions, fees, and policies), and then decide if you’d like to schedule an appointment.
If I’m not the right match, you need a therapist with a different specialty or approach, I can always provide referrals to make sure you are connected to someone.
I offer appointments Monday-Thursday from 11am-7pm. I am not available Fridays or during weekends.
I see most of my clients weekly, however if something comes up or things are particularly tough, we can add additional sessions as needed. Once things are feeling more manageable, some clients choose to move into "maintenance" sessions every-other-week.
I am not an emergency provider or crisis practitioner; should an emergency arise, you should go to the emergency room, or call 988 or 911.
I have a minimum 48-hour cancellation policy, meaning I need two-days notice to make any changes to your scheduled appointment. Missed appointments and cancellations (or rescheduling) occurring less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment will be charged at the full session rate.
If you’re unable to make your in-person session, you can also request a telehealth session instead of cancelling. Any appointments adjusted to telehealth, or rescheduled within the same week, will avoid any fees charged.
Under the federal No Surprises Act (Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act), healthcare providers must provide clients that are not utilizing their insurance with an estimate of the cost for medical services. In other words, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical (in this case, psychotherapy) care will cost prior to receiving care. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. It's important to retain a copy or a photo of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more details about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
