THERAPY FOR SEX AND PORN ADDICTION IN WALNUT CREEK AND ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA

Sex & Porn Addiction

Sex and porn addiction are types of behavioral addiction (like gambling, gaming, and internet addictions) that feel out-of-control and create distress in relationships, your sense of self, and ability to show up as who you want to be. Addiction is often accompanied by shame, depression, and anxiety; you might find yourself in crises at work, with family, or struggling to reconcile your behavior with who you truly are. Most people struggling with addiction have tried to quit or cut back, sometimes many times, only to find themselves pulled back into the familiar, unhealthy coping strategies of addiction.

If your addiction with sex or pornography feels out of control and you’re ready not only to quit, but to understand your addictive behaviors, you’re in the right place.

Here’s What We’ll Do

Managing addictive behaviors is only the first step in successful recovery from sex and porn addiction. Healing addiction begins with understanding where our compulsive
behaviors come from, how our beliefs about ourselves and others influence them, and how past traumas and family dysfunction influence the ways we cope with difficult
emotions.

I specialize in helping clients with a history of family, relational, and religious trauma feel more aligned with their values and rediscover who they are without addiction. We’ll use assessments, tools, and resources specifically designed for sexual addiction (like circle plans, mapping addictive cycles, and adjunctive resources like groups) to address not only symptom relief, but true healing.

  • Heal shame

  • Re-write negative core beliefs

  • Mend relationships

  • Healthy communication

  • Strategies for relapse prevention

  • Increased connection with self and others

  • Healthy coping strategies

  • Values-aligned recovery
